yep, the lesson you can learn from this is:
don t trust men with tattoos and driving a chevy.
The guy, who thought he had rented the house did not exactly sound like he had invented gunpowder btw.

I just saw on TV people in the USA being kicked out of their house, which they rented, though they paid their rent in time, but the owner did not pay the bank.
I guess, there is no tenant-protection over there like we have?
Here the rent can only end, if the tenant dies or leaves.

I have a friend who was purchasing a home on a "Land Contract" that is to say that he was on a "Rent-to-Own" Contract. He, his wife and thier son had lived in and paid on this home for a bit over 2-years when out of the blue they recieved a notice to quite (A "You must vacate" notice) from a bank. It seems the man that they were paying who perportedly owned the property in actuality was supposed to be paying the mortage on the property himself and had no legal right to enter into a private sellers contract with anyone. The bank didn't even give the man and his family the customary 30-day notice. They were granted 48-hours.

They showed something similar on the news here as what happened to your friend's family.
Over here the bank would not be allowed to put them out of their home at all.
The fact that the original owner did not pay his mortgage, would not allow the bank to put those people on the street just like that.
It would result for them in paying the rent to the bank directly instead of to the original owner.

My friend made that perposal to the bank and was basically laughed at.
