One day when I was young my Dad who thought he’d teach me not to make foolish bets sat me down at our kitchen table. In front of me he sat an empty juice glass, a dinner plate, a kitchen match, an apple slice and, a pitcher of water. He then poured enough of the water from the pitcher onto the plate to completely cover it.
He then bet me $10 that I couldn’t get the water that was on the plate into the empty juice glass without touching the plate. He told me that if I wished I could use the match and the apple slice to accomplish it. After several minutes of hard thinking I ended up walking away from the table with my Dad’s $10 in my pocket.
How did I get the water into the glass?
