I still have about 50 8-track tapes (still have an 8-track player but its not hooked up) and over 100 LP's and about 30 cassette tapes and 200 video tapes in my closet.. lmao

I just like having it. I know I will never use them again, but I just like knowing its there.

i am not sure how many, i thought i did not have any 8 tracks, but i stumbled across the 8 track storage box, that i had when a teenager that stayed in my car, usually, i did not remember putting it in a place in the basement. one note of caution, many years ago, after the 8 tracks were old, i went to play one in my then stereo, a console, magnavox, well if u look at a 8 track tape it has a black rubber wheel in one side of the front. well i went to pull it out, and my player had tar all in it. what happened after then checking the other 8 track tapes is on some that rubber wheel must have had some kind of chemical breakdown and that rubber turned to a tar like substance, i checked the rest and found some were bad and some not, if u mash the rubber wheel if it is soft it will mash in, u can tell which ones may be bad,

Yeah I bet half of the 8-tracks I have don't play anymore. That was one of the biggest problems with 8-track tapes is that they don't last very long. Something also goes wrong with them eventually. They break, the tape breaks or gets crinkled, or the housing of the tape gets warped. It was a big mess back then with 8-tracks. But I still love them. I keep all my tapes and my home stereo 8-track player (which is in a nice wooden case that will plug into any home stereo) because its nostalgic and reminds me of my past.
