I'm at the point now where I hate TV, its an ad invested piece of garbage now. I will still tolerate the ads on sports venues but its wearing thin. Computers will handle all programing eventually, without all the agonizingly long commercial breaks.

Obviously I would rather be online on a computer that watch any TV. I used to like TV, now I see it as an offense to my senses to constantly bombard me with commercial ads. I'm sick of it.

Times are changing. and computers and the Internet will wipeout Broadcast Television in a matter of years. Computers are already destroying TV as I write this.

You can watch movies on your computer without the commercials. All you need is to hook your computer to your TV and watch your movies that way.

Take the poll...

If you could only keep one, what would it be, your TV or computer? Lets say for example, you're placed on a stranded island, you can only choose one, TV or a computer connected to the internet, what would it be?

I find the TV anything but relaxing. The commercials/ads are a major distraction and unnerving. I can't relax watching a broadcast TV movie, for one thing they cut it up and edit out all the scenes they don't want to air, also they cut up just normal shows so it will fit in the time-frame of the commercials they want to show. Look at old 1 hour shows like Star Trek for example, in the 60's and 70's there weren't as many commercials and the timing of how long each episode was, was/is greatly influenced by the TV stations commercials they air. So old TV shows like Star Trek, Little House on the Prairie, ect were around 48 minutes long on purpose so it would fit the TV stations hour time slot with the commercials/ads they were planing to air, the list goes on and on of shows they cut up for this purpose. They are edited to fit the commercial breaks so it all fits within one hour or any time-frame they want. The same can be said for movies, they edit them to fit there commercials too.

No, I really don't like TV. Oh I like TV sets but not Broadcast TV. Its an ad infested bore.

I prefer to watch a movie on my computer, or TV episode any day. HBO and other unedited movie channels are good, but broadcast TV and most cable channels are garbage.

There is a new series coming on with Tom Selleck something about Cops > I may see what that is like. I do like Tom Selleck~I started watching Army wives a couple years ago, but I am not a tv person if it doesn't hold my attention, or interest, I don't watch it~

I spend more time on the computer because I can interact with it.
I like to be creative.
I watch about an hours tele every night.
We have B.B.C. 1 and 2 ...no adverts. But the licence cost to much. About £100 a year.
I do sometimes channel hop a lot...in case i am missing something.
I channel hop the NEWS at 10pm..then after about 10 mins I get bored with the news.
We do not have SKY Television which is extra money and lots of repeats.
There is a FREE VIEW channel on one tele in the bedroom which has an extra ariel. That shows repeats.
We have tele signal come into our home in cable under the pavement. (Fibre Optic)
The cable is for the telephone as well...(no interference signals)

well the way i work i dont get to watch much tv. or be on the internet like i use to. actually i looked at tvs today, for the lake, the new LED are better than the LCD that did dominate the field, so i figure LCD prices will fall, actually the LED has been out but walmart just now started to carry them, since the price got under 2000 bucks , i did not know walmart had a policy to not carry a tv over 2000.00 till i asked if the leds were new, but was informed they have been out a couple of years, the ones i saw were all big, i did not see a led that was smaller, they were all LCD.. but im in no hurry as the season is over and things will be cheaper next spring,,
