Swedish Woman Charged for Driving a Golf Cart While Drunk

YSTAD, Sweden – A 62-year-old Swedish woman was charged for driving a golf cart under the influence, after being reported by other golfers at a course in the country's south.

The woman -- who had been acting "inappropriately," according to players at the local course in Ystad -- was found to be well over the legal blood alcohol limit when police were called, news website The Local reported Sunday, citing Golf.se.

She was charged with aggravated drunken driving offenses and escaped with a fine because of the cart's low speed.

The woman told the court she had been at a party the night before and had also enjoyed four shots of whiskey while on the course.

Swedish law does not discriminate between golf carts and regular cars in terms of drunk driving, police said.

It was on Phillips Hiway in Jacksonville, FL. That's big 4 lane deal but it wasn't very far. I drove on the grass verge. My truck had a dead battery.

In SC, you don't need a driver's license to drive a moped with a rated horsepower less than 5 or less than 50cc displacement. You see them all over the place, No doubt many have more than 5hp and definitely more than 50cc but the local cops out here in the boonies are VERY leniant on that. You can drive a "farm implement" at 12 so you'll see pickups with a "farm imp" tag.
