Redskins Have Some Bad News for Senate Dems About Their Attempt to Foist Made-Up PC Rules on Them

http://www.ijreview.com/2014/05/141442-redskins-owner-hits-back-senate-dems-say-wont-change-name/
By Caroline Schaeffer

Washington Redskins President Bruce Allen responded to the 49 Democrats who are calling for a change to the team’s name, which they claim is racist.

According to Fox News, Allen wrote a three page letter which said the 82-year-old name is respectful of Native Americans, and that most Native Americans and Americans as a whole support the name.

Almost all of the Senate Democrats – 49 out of 53 – signed a letter addressed to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, asking him to find a way to change the name. Senate Republicans were reportedly not asked to participate.

The letter cited the NBA’s recent decision to ban Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life following the release of tapes in which he can be heard making comments about African Americans.

Allen and owner Daniel Snyder have held fast, citing the long history of the team. Additionally, Allen’s letter noted that Native American leaders designed the teams logos and that 83% of polled Americans favor keeping the name.

Via Fox News:

“Our use of `Redskins’ as the name of our football team for more than 80 years has always been respectful of and shown reverence toward the proud legacy and traditions of Native Americans.”

Democrats claim that tribal organizations representing over two million Native Americans say they want the name dropped. They have spent time on the Senate floor discussing why the name should be dropped.

The NFL has publicly supported the Redskins, saying that the team’s name has always been intended to “present a strong, positive, and respectful image.” And this makes perfect sense: Who would pick a team name that they didn’t believe honored the organization?

This has been on several sports channels, just like they are now saying the name Saints is disrespectful to religion and racist. I just think it is out of line for legislatures to waste time of football team names when they could be spending time on other important issues.

lmao The only problem people like you have with Fox is they report on issues in detail and truth and will not kiss the WH ass or Carney. They are not sheep walking 2 by 2 cheering Team Obama as the major networks have been proven to do. Obama is afraid of Fox, he even broke down and did an interview with O'Reilly strictly for PR and damage control. When you joke about a network as Obama has it is showing his fear of the honesty they are bringing and uncovering.

I guess we will agree to disagree Fox is not fair or balanced, and their ratings are dropping fast. most of the young people do not tune into fox.

In a segment from Fox called Waters World,he goes out on the street and interviews people, he went to a university, the question was a simple one, Who is the Vice President ? 75% of the students had no clue , another question asked What is Climate Change ? 80% answered when it gets warm for summer. This is the future of America so I'm not concerned they don't watch Fox.

Thank God they don't because Fox is dumbing down Americans who watch it an most of them are anywhere from 60 to 80 age group  even they don't recognize climate change is real and most of it manmade,it states in the Bible that Man will destroy himself, Fox is definitely leading the pack.

all all republican oriented,Fox and has been proved untruthful and creating stories that are untrue, Like the Acorn deal and the woman helping the farmers the lie they created many more,I can find and put here but one has to open thie mind to the bad stuff fox keeps airing, they have even admitted they are mostly entertainment, who in their right mind wants that type of entertainment, dumbing down of America?

it is nice to disagree when it is not name calling and shouting, I will never believe as you do SSC .I do respect your thoughts, but will never accept them.

Obama is not afraid of Fox, he thinks they are so ridiculous it is best to avoid the stupidity of them.

America has dumbed down itself, they are just fed up with problems and no answers from the ones who should be guiding them, and looking out for their best interests.

The best interest for Americans is to become more educated and study as to what is fair and balanced
,I have yet to witness a republican political figure who really cares about its constituents.
I have enjoyed conversation,I will now go and place flowers on my Childrens graves , My son Jeff was a vet. God Bless all.
