well the rain gave me a reason to work on income tax. as always i take my last check and as soon as my book comes i add in my head my income and interest, and then subtract standard deduct, and personnel exempts, and see what i was cut, then look up what i think i owe, and i thought i would owe this year, but i actually got a few hundred back. so that was a pleasant surprise.. something new this year if u take standard deductions on federal, u can add ur personnel property tax to the standard deductions up to 500 max for singles and 1000 couples, i knew i had heard it on the news, or i may have missed it,,

ok thanks, i did read the new things in the 1040 book i got with my forms in it, as i always do my own taxes the old way,,, but i only do standard deductions on federal so that would be all i need to have,.. this prop tax was something u could add to the standard deductions, the feds are generous with standard, i don't come even close to it itemizing, but i do itemizes state tax, its a totally different story, but takes longer, lol,, thanks, i have not sealed my federal yet,

my dad always did his own taxes, i took a class in it in highschool, but it has changed but u have to change with it, but my taxes are not that complicated, i did use the free one off the internet one year, but i did not like it,, the next year they did not sent me a book, but u can find one online, and any forms u need, like this year i did not need a royalties form, so next year the book will not have one in it, but i can go online and print one out, if i need it next year,, i just like to do it the old way, so i know whats going on,, i did pay a bookeeping service one year when my mom died, i had issues i was not sure on,,i have alway hated paying ppl to do things i can do..plus when politicians talk about changing things, u know what they are talking about, take care
