well we talk about the healthcare not even knowing if it will pass, and since obama is not a member unless obama is zorro, i assume obama is not reading our post, lmao,, i dont see anyway, the public option like medicare will pass, i have not studied the health care exchanges which i think could pass, im just taking a stab that they are places ppl that have private individual policys, that are expensive and usually u have high deductibles to pay . so these ppl can join an exchange and be in that group and get a better price and more security, since private policys can cancel u at there whim, and maybe the government would have some help on the premiums in certain cases, but i have no idea really how they work and how they work may not even been ironed out yet, i actually think obama put the public option out there to satisfy the ppl that said they will vote no unless there is a public option, but behind close doors, later as things are hammered out, they will be told , look its either this without a public option or its nothing, and rahm-bo will put them inline in the house, thats why i have already said i think the blue dogs will get there way as they did agree to some things and pass a bill in there committee where so many are, , but im done , nothing i say here changes one thing, so i will now wait and see how it shakes out. obama has more probs with the dems than the repubs, .. actually on cnn they are saying this very thing now, lol, that ppl are starting to soften up some..and a public option will be gone.. i dont understand it but they talked about a maneuver in the senate that it could pass with 51 votes, i have no idea what that is, the only thing is the budget cant be filibustered i believe, could this be part of the budget and pass. i have no idea. but i dont think they wanted to use the maneuver that was discussed, take care

"..they talked about a maneuver in the senate that it could pass with 51 votes..." // Being a smartass AND a know-it-all, I'll dive right into this: Some years ago Harry Byrd, a senator, introduced a law and got it passed that solved a problem. Bills would be passed but there would be arguments over appropriations (funding). This was not considered a serious enough problem to stop legislation in it's tracks,so...rather than the usual 60 vote majority, these financial differences could be "reconciled" with a simple 51 vote majority. Unfortunately, certain kinds of laws cannot be subjected to this expediant,so any bill passed this way could be seriously affected. This is being called the "nuclear option" because it is,in my opinion,an underhanded manoeuver designed to bypass normal requirements and it can't be subjected to a fillibuster. Some pundits are saying all hell would break loose because this "reconcilliation amendment" was never intended to pass closely contested legislation. I dunno. It doesn't sound like good politics. Stay tuned.

thanks marc, i never knew that, have a good nite, i have been off this week, and got no chores done, i needed to work on my fence, but that would be hard, my fence man got cancer and is out of business, or i would call him, me and son in law weeks ago cut a real tall pine that lightning hit, i had my truck on it, and was pulling it in a good angle, but it hit another trees limb and rolled some and hit my chain link fence and back gate, i have bought parts and fixed my fence alot, but this one is bigger problem,, i could have painted the west end of my house, as it has faded the most, and i have an airless sprayer, but i did have 2 new steel garage doors put up but i just watched the guy, man he was good, and i love them, well have a good nite take care,

The chores never end. My rangehood never seemed to work well so I reached up in there and took a look. Seems the fan was so weak it wouldn't even open the gravity damper. Also, the hood hadn't been put in right,so the pass-thru duct was sloped downward and rain had been leaking in for years. I took the hood down and put in a HO squirrel cage fan. I chewed out all the rotted wood and started over again. I didn't wanna rebuild the wall because all the kitch plumbing/electrical in it,so I just resurfaced it (floor tiles!) I then resurfaced the wall next to this to match and re-trimmed the window. I'm gonna wallpaper the rest of the kitch next week. I also gotta rewire my little shop building for different outdoor lighting, etc. I haven't touched the truck yet. It's still sitting there with a jumped timing chain but I'm in no hurry. It's a nasty knuckle buster but simple so I'll get to it sooner or later. I got a hornets nest they built on the back of my house that's HUGE. I've killed the wasps but I still have to cut the damn thing down. It's a really weird thing to look at.

We had a hornets net on the underside of the air conditioner at the cabin.
old timers say if the hornets build high a mild winter, Low a bad winter, I think I have that right. every indication is we will have a snowy bad winter.. according to old timers, of course, I am still considered a young timer to 80 year old's
Folklore
Some common lines of weather lore:
If animals have an especially thick coat of fur, expect a cold winter.
When squirrels bury their nuts early, it will be a hard winter
Hornets' nest built in the top of trees indicate a mild winter is ahead; nests built close to the ground indicate that a harsh winter is coming.
If you hear an owl hoot in the daytime, a storm is approaching.
When clouds look like rocks and towers, the earth will be refreshed by showers.
When clouds look like chicked scratches or mare's tails it will soon rain.
High clouds indicate fine weather will prevail; lower clouds mean rain.
Smoke that curls downward and lingers means a nearing storm.
Roosting birds indicate a storm, because thinning air is harder to fly in.
If the rooster goes crowing to bed, he'll certainly rise with a watery head.
A warm November is the sign of a bad winter.
If the woolly worm's (a type of caterpillar) head is more black than colored, the coldest part of the winter will come in the first months of winter.
If fruit trees bloom in the fall, the weather will be severe the following winter.
If the first snow falls on unfrozen ground, expect a mild winter.

i had one hanging from my boat dock top, all boat docks where u park ur boat on the lake are like car ports and dont have side sheets, just tops, well there was a football size hornet nest like a couple years ago,at dusk using a pump up sprayer, a plastic one, i put in gas and malition in it and just started spraying and not stopping, they were confused till the nest was so wet i then just stabed the nest with the wand, and being paper it just fell apart, the next day the only thing was a solid ring on the top that was all unopen larve, i got it off, i do the same thing with yellow jackets, the gas gets some then but the bug poison gets the ones that get way but if they come back they dont mess with the malaition smell so all of them were gone, this year i cought one that was like a lemon just starting, i just sprayed it and knocked it down, and i spray the top around the perimeiter of the top so the smell of whatever bug stuff im useing keeps them from building, i dont use gas when just spraying, like that,,meemoon wrote: I got a hornets nest they built on the back of my house that's HUGE.
