I played chess for 2 1/2 years at IYT and reached #10 in one group and #17 in another. In a hissy fit, I told bp (bpascal) "dese guys is cheatin me using computers." Being normal and smart he told me to calm down and stay with it. My day will come. I didn't listen, resigned all my games, and started all over again. He was right and he made #1 a coupla weeks later. Gypsy will tell you bp was ALWAYS right. Meanwhile, I'm at the bottom playing beginners and went after #1 rank with a vengence. I had as many as 5 practice boards set up at the same time. In 2 years I made it. #1 in the 72 hour open ladder and #1 in the 72 hour closed ladder. This does not prove that I am smart. This does not prove I am clever. This proves I am a befuddled old man building bridges with matchsticks like the old ex-engineer I am. I do not know your user names at IYT, but the game of chess still interests me, so I am inviting you to challenge me. I am presently playing in no ladders or tournemets nor will I do so.. I will probably lose. Marc
