Calling the Army is always the last resort. We only have a small army here.

Maybe what we need is a water Cannon but we have not got one in England, but Ireland has.
Perhaps we could use the fireman's hoses, then they would have to go home soaking wet.
Byestanders should be hosed with the garden hoses.

Tazers and rubber bullets not a good idea...most are young School Children and youths.

Trouble got nearer to me..."Sony" Depo in Waltham Abbey in Essex, 15 minutes away was set alight.
Must be petrol cocktails...not sure. Could not have been a box of matches.

I am baffled by the scale of it. Birmingham and other cities also affected.

Tesco in Enfield which use to be the old Savoy Cinema was set alight.
Now that is not a poor district. Nor is Ealing in London,

The youth are well dressed they have no need to loot.
It's just mindless Burglary and thuggery.
No thought is given to peoples lives.

Opportunist...jumping on the bandwagon.
Human Nature is to go the extra mile to get something for nothing.

The laws of Health and Safety are impeding things as well.
A Policeman can't even save a man drowning in a pond unless it is a trained person to do the job....
(I kid you not) it happened recently in Harlow.

It amazes me how quickly the fires spread.

They are now pulling the carpet store down in Tottenham because it is unsafe.
It use to be called Herod's and was a Listed building and part of Tottenham's Heritage.
People living in 26 flats above now homeless.

Tottenham Hotspure football match is due to take place Saturday,
so I do not know what will happen their.
WE Need the Police for these riots.
The Wembly friendly match from Holland is cancelled.
A lot of tickets were sold.

Mindless Yobs are causing havoc. Hooded Hoodlums with no sense of discipline enjoying themselves at the expense of others.

Shop Keepers are closing early at 3 PM
Large stores and small shopkeepers are affected.

The main Road to Tottenham is deserted of traffic....The old Hertford Road.
Which is a very long straight Roman Road.
Buses are just sailing through.

Getting too close to Harlow Essex for comfort.....
Enfield, Tottenham ect; Where I lived as a child.

Police surprised by the hatred. People onTwitter... On the Net was exciting the young ones to come and join in.
This is against the law and they will also be prosecuted.

Mobs of 200 young people aged between 14 and 20...they would suddenly split up and move in different directions.
The Police would not let the fire engines through
Because the firemen could not be protected.
On the first day not enough Police who were taken by surprise.

More Police are now drafted into the areas. 6,000 last night increased to 16000 tonight.
The jail cells are full, so these rioters are being sent out of Town.

Wow, that sounds similar to our LA riots years ago. But those were Negros trashing there own neighborhoods.

In our country a police man will try to save a person drowning no matter if hes qualified or not. That is common sense. You don't just stand there and watch them drown, if they did that they would be fired.

Why are they rioting in your country? What do they hope to accomplish? Forgive my ignorance on this issue its the first I heard of it.

The answers are complex.

About 80 White Vigilantes in White T Shirts are now walking the street of Enfield, Middlesex to-night.
Trying to protect the Town because of shortage of Police.

Their ages must be approx 30 to 40 years...Big men....
One was carrying a sword which was confiscated by the Police.

Police are considering plastic bullets.

Police vans with 50 at a time are taking them to court and then let out on Bail.
One Rioter was aged 11 and was ordered to be escorted by his Mother or Grandmother.
He left the Court alone.

This trouble is happening in various parts of England.

In Manchester 3 coloured Brothers were knocked down by a car and killed trying to protect their neighbourhood.

Why don't they use real bullets?

We do not use real bullets because this is England and these are just Kids out of control.
We have less violent ways to deal with this situation.

Cut backs on Police

Jobs hard to find...many redundancies.

Discipline in Schools and homes gone out of the window.
Teachers dare not put a hand on a childs shoulder for fear of being suspended
from their jobs.
A Mother has only to complain to a Head Teacher and then She or He is forced to suspend the Teacher so an enquiry can be held. I know it to have happened locally to a Teachers Assistant who has worked at the School for 25 years...the allegation was invalid up to a point and she was re-instated.

But this is in a minority of cases and does not go for across the board.

Children are being tried in Junivile Courts.

Use real bullets and shoot them in the ass, that will teach them a lesson they will never forget.

police in england don't usually carry guns or they use to not i think, just night sticks, but that may have changed, i saw on cnn, they were showing how on cnn.com its hard to explain but u can take a picture and slide it someway so it shows a building before and after a fire, it changes as u slide, but i guess its still there, that was yesterday, to show some damage. i heard they will not even use tear gas on the news yesterday, unless that changed,

We do have armed Police...but are you prepared to Kill a Schoolchild some still in Primary School.

This to my mind is a lesson not to spoil children and let them run riot and do what they want.

They need parental guidance. Some of these children come from disturbed backgrounds.

A Father is needed to take control.

A Night Stick ...what is that!!! You mean a hard wood Baton.

My Question is why so few Police on the first night...3,000
We have a Police Force of 64,000

This Riot happened very quick ...but more Police should have been continually drafted in.

Our Police will use Tougher measures if needed.

Police do have Tazers. But the Kids mingled with onlookers.

i think i read where there have been multiple arrest, if u know candy let us know, im not positive , but i think here, if ur child is involved in stuff like this the parent shares some kind of responsibility legally.i still say kids or not use tear gas, even on spectators who should not be there anyways, spectators probably are a problem

A Night Stick ...what is that!!! You mean a hard wood Baton. YES
