Do you believe in UFO's? When someone asks me that question I always say "I don't know" but it stands to reason that their are other lifeforms somewhere in this universe , but if they've visited us here on planet Earth or not is quite another situation altogether. When somebody reports to have seen a UFO that doesn't necessarily mean that it came from another planet. It simply means a "Unidentified Flying Object", nothing more, nothing less. But some people seem to immediately think it had to have been from a faraway planet from a much more advanced species. Why couldn't it have been something that was Man made right here from Earth? I don't know, but when NASA reports unexplainable accounts like the ones in this video below, it makes me wonder. What do you think, have other lifeforms from other planets visited us in the past, and are they still here?

Thats more biblical than anything else. Nothing scientific in that.

Nothing biblical about it. I just picked this part, because of the description of space ships.
Watch the whole series and it will become clear, but I suppose you never heard about Erich von Daeniken or his theories.
No need to believe in his theories, but he raises a few interesting questions.

Oh ok, well I didn't even finish watching this video let along the entire series, but I'll watch this video in its entirety now. I've heard of Erich von Daeniken but don't know anything about his theories. I'll read up on him.

Wow excellent piece, I'd like to see all the segments. Its very interesting about the maps that could only have been made from someone viewing the earth from space. Very interesting indeed. And the pyramids and how they were made is still a mystery and it really makes you think we had visitors and one time in history. Facts certainly point in that direction.

Good piece mays.

You refer to the Piri reis map - yes, thats intruiging.
I have several books from Von Daeniken and most people see him as a pantast.
here is something else, I found on him; as you can hear he s from Switzerland.

Thats some interesting ideas based on some pretty significant material. It makes a lot of sense. The idea that ships were docked in space around our planet at one time is a scary one, and would explain what the people saw, and why they believed they were Gods. And to think that might have happened once upon a time is cool. But then they were destroyed by something, perhaps an asteroid or participles of one that sent off a explosive chain reaction and wiped them all out. I'd be curious what others think of this.

The Mahabharata (India) describes some sort of a nuclear war, it seems.
If you want to know about Mesopotamian myths on this subject, try a search on "Annunaki"

UFOs are real; thousands of people see them every week. Are they piloted by beings inside or remotely? Well....only if those beings are humans. Why not extraterrestrials? Here's why: That would be virtually impossible. Mercury is so close to the sun that it is extremely hot and is irradiated by the sun much worse than if it's entire surface were occupied by leaking nuclear power plants. NO complex organic compounds exist or can form there. Venus may have, long ago, had complex, organic componds. It has an Earth equivalent gravity and a thick atmosphere. And it is warm.Very thick, very warm, and very poisonous. It's atmospheric pressure is about 100X ours. It is about 900D farenheit. It has clouds of sulphuric compounds and continuously rains sulphuric acid. It could support no conceivable complex life form that could live, much less build and fly a space ship. It now seems clear that Mars has water ice. It has been clear also, for a long time, that Mars' core solidified long ago. No moving metallic core means no magnetic field. No magnetic field, such as Earth possesses means no protection from the "solar wind". Mars is radioactive in a deadly way. Any complex organic compounds are quickly broken up by that radiation. Mars may have some form of residual, organic life deep below the surface, but it is ridiculous to posit that they build spaceships and fly them here. Jupiter is almost all hydrogen and helium with some amonia mixed in. Don't go there. It has no "surface". It does have a sort of "core" of metallic hydrogen. Look it up. No space ship plants can float around and produce anything where the winds are always at hundreds of miles per hour. Any possible "floating fauna" better be able to breathe amonia gas and methane. One of it's moons, Europa, may have a sea. But that sea is covered by many miles of VERY hard, stone like, ice. There could be a basic sea organism, but not enough sun energy to support anything like an intelligent being (pilots). It gets worse the further out you go, so I'll stop here.

UFOs from "beyond"? Well.......virtually impossible. You can speculate (dream?) at will, but the math defeats and denies you. At least 200 extra solar planets have been found and thousands more will be. I personally believe there are at least many billions more. Are some occupied by intelligent beings capable of building spaceships? I firmly believe there are many. Or were. Or will be. Will they visit us? No. Have they? No. Will we visit them? Never. WHY??? Here's why: The distances between us and the nearest stars are so vast it defies cognition. The nearest (Sirius?) can't be considered, look it up. But let's say, for the sake of discussion, there is a "special" planet only 20 light years away. That's only 120,000,000,000,000 miles. And let's say it is a small, low gravity planet that for some unknown reason, evolved small, low weight beings as well. Let's say 1/10th Earth gravity (3 ft/sec sq.) and beings weighing only 15 pounds. Their escape velocity would only be 2000 mph! Hurrah! And lets say these little, smart, guys can build a space ship 250 times as fast as our fastest ones: 10 million mph! Hurrah again! BUT...there's a problem. Any complex organism cannot endure a long period of advanced acceleration. That has been proven. (Laika died) So, at 3 ft/sec sq., how long would it take them to reach their top speed of 15,000,000 ft/sec? At an average speed of 7,500,000 ft/sec, it would take them 90 days and they will have travelled a whopping 4,261 miles. That leaves only 119,999,999,995,739 miles to go. Hmmmm. At 10 million mph, that would take them only 1,370 years. This is also assuming their space ship has 4 times the amount of fuel necesary to get them to top speed. 1/4 to reach it, 1/4 to slow down once they got near us, 1/4 to get back up to speed for the return home, and a final 1/4 to slow down the last time. I suggest that NO intelligent society woiuld accomplish this many, many times over many, many years (as reports would indicate) just to "check us out" and not leave one shred of evidence that they had done such a truly marvelous thing, I would also point out that we, who weigh 10 times as much, would need a spaceship 10 times as large, requiring 100 times as much fuel, just to deliver and return people who had been dead for thousands of years. Robots? For what possible reason? And people aren't reporting little green robots, are they? Nope.

Well, you're forgetting one important factor in your 'speed vs time to get here' evaluation, and that's taking into account they might be advanced enough to reach speeds much faster than we could ever imagine. That possibility would break any "time frame" scenario anyone could possibly come up with. I'm well aware its our understanding 'now' that no one can travel faster than the speed of light, but things we didn't think possible have come to pass before, and breaking the speed of light could very well be possible someday. There are scientist today that see it as a possibility, but just don't know how to go about it yet. Some say it can't ever be done, I say never say "can't". I'd like to think we will break it someday. I believe that any number or 'speed' is a limitation, and how much we learn as a species has no limitations, and thus, learning how to travel faster than the speed of light someday by means of a spaceship or something completely different, and even FASTER than the speed of light, becuase that would be a limit too.

I fully understand your view. But consider this: To propel a pound of peas to just 99% of the speed of light, not to even exceed it, would require more energy than the sun produces. That's why your theorists "Can't figure out how to do it". And that's why they never will. Men saw birds fly, dreamed of doing it, and finally did it We have not, and cannot defy the basic laws of physics. You may as well dream of angels and goblins turning ashes into gold. E=MC (sq) means: Energy equals mass (1 pound) times 186,000,000 times 5,280 feet per mile times 186,000,000 times 5,280 feet per mile. That's: 186,000,000 X 5,280 X 186,000,000 X 5,280. Try to do the math. You'll get 964,481,120,000,000,000,000,000 ft lbs of energy. Since that is for just 1 pound, multiply that by the weight of any space ship and fuel source. Then multiply that by 4 for blast off, slow down, re-blast off, and final slow down. There is no free ride when attempting to "warp" space-time. Your theorists never mention that or the amount of energy required. I'm not joking: Some civilization in a galaxy "far, far away" may do it. But they won't be human beings and they will, in all likelihood, not even know we exist. We will not ever be able to go "there", and "they" will never come here. This is one occasion when you can happily and confidently say "never".

I am neither "happily or confidently" saying never. I won't say that at all, and if I did, I certainly wouldn't be "happy" about it.

Throwing out mathematical equations to strengthen your point does not diminish the idea of "hope" and the "possibility of learning new things". Those are numbers being slowly outdated and upgraded. As we learn, the numbers change and the reasons for those numbers becomes less as we learn other ways. They become 'obsolete' and a non-issue if and when new ways are found.

The amount of energy required is based on what we know 'now', but new things will be learned in the future, and new ideas and ways of going about it if we choose to figure it out, and I'm sure its important enough that we will try, and succeed someday. But we'll be long gone of course, and never know. But I believe I can safely say, and with confidence, that we will figure it out someday.

And I, my good friend, will leave you with your "hope". Yes, man may become god-like enough to bend the laws of physics, but I would fear that day rather than hope for it. The last time men merely dabbled with those laws, hundreds of thousands of Japanese died instantaneously in one week.Beware what you hope for.

well i dont know why but i just now have saw this topic, first time here, my dad always said , with an infinite universe, by the law of averages he thinks there is life of somekind out there,. one thing that kinda bothers me, is the word or letters, UFO. ppl see that and think space ship from another planet, well its only an unidenified flying object, which can be many things, . if we go back to area 51 i think all or most UFOs are just nasa or airforce experimental planes, and like ppl to think space ship, as to not have to explain any farther, my thoughts on space ships, is if there has been so many sighting ppl think are from outerspace , why has one not landed and or made any contact, i realize there are some events in history, that ppl belief that they did do that, . but as my dad said, an infinite universe, the odds of anything zooming around who knows what galaxy and light years away. the odds of them finding earth are so astonomical, i just dont belief it has happened. as u know i believe the bible, so just take Genesis which i belief, but i also belief science, who can argue with fosils and bones that are hundreds of millions of years old, but i think some how, i cant explain, the bible and science merge, i know ppl that takes the bible litreally, well i dont see how, one can especially genesis, i mean 7 days cant be7 days as we know it, shoot i have enough to think about, lol, i will say like the astroid that suspose to have hit down close to the yucatan penensula,i think and caused the dinos to die, that facinates me more than any ET's and when will another astroid find us as a target, but at my age, i dont have to worry, heck at my age i will not see california viberate away,, in a 8.5 on the rictor scale,(spelling)lol take care,

You just found this place on the forum? Well that's not surprising considering you didn't know for months I had the Video Vault page at the old forum..lol :)

I agree for the most part that the things people report seeing were Man made, but as far as the Bible goes in that you believe it, well thats more of a far out story than any UFO sighting I have EVER heard. How you can even mention that you believe the bible with such normalcy, and in the same breath mention the falsehoods of UFO's, is quite funny.

You believe in the bible, other people believe in UFO's, both are far out stories, as George Carlin would say, just choose your superstition, make a wish, and enjoy yourself.

I don't know, but I do know strange things happen, and there is no answer yet for it~
i don't think anything has been proved as far as bibical happenings, but if people witnessed it and wrote it down ,i believe something phenomenal happened.
the bible does speak of people hearing the whirring of wheels and an air craft type of vehicle. things that at the time written , had not occurred~or been invented..
