Read this and see if I've made some progress or need more coaching (there's always a better way): 1.I downloaded the vid from Youtube using "Realplayer". I did a "Zune" conversion to wmv. Realplayer has that free upgrade. 3.When I get any photo or video in Windows compatible format,it automatically appears in my Picasa3 library. I went to picasa, clicked on the file, and hit "play and edit". I started the vid but paused it just before the part I wanted to delete, and hit the "end point" button. I then hit "export file". That automatically exported it to my "exported video" folder. 4.I then hit the "Reset start/end point" button and hit play. 5. I then let the vid continue to the end of the chorus part and hit "pause". I then hit the "start" icon and let the video finish. I then hit "export video" again." 6.Now I have the two parts I want in a folder, "Exported videos". 7. I then went to "Windows Moviemaker" and hit "import video". 8.I clicked on the folders on the left "documents" and got to the "exported videos" folder and opened it. I then clicked on the first half file and it appeared in the box, broken up into segments,as usual. I drug them down in sequence,to the story board. I hit "movie effects" and drug down "fade to black" over the last frame. 9.I then hit "import video" again and drug down the segments from the second half file. I drug down the "fade from black" effect over the first frame in that sequence. 10. I then hit "save to computer" and, voila! A new video I can then upload to Youtube for an embed code. Neat, huh? Only took a few minutes, actually.

Good work Moon, you've made a lot of progress, that's nice to see, I know you enjoy this. Well, yes there is a easier way you could have edited that video to take the part out you didn't want, in this case the (chorus lyrics), what you can do next time is if while playing back the video on windows movie maker and you get to the part that you don't want, just pause the video and put your mouse on that section of the video in your story board and left click and hold it down, then slide your mouse to the left collapsing that video segment to where you want it. In effect, you won't need to save different video segments to later put it all together, you can collapse the video and edit it right there in the story board. No need to make and save different segments then put it all back together again. However, your method used is necessary in editing videos especially if you are adding audio soundtracks sometimes you need to save certain segments, so your method is used and is understood. Other situations can make it necessary to edit and save segments like you did that video. Hope that helps some. You did a fine job no matter how you slice it.

WOW! Thanks a lot. I saved the story board. I'm gonna re-up it and see. Sounds like it would be more accurate.
