Mark Ingram remains the perceived Heisman front-runner, but is the gap narrowing?

Ingram rushed for 102 yards Saturday on only 11 carries .Will Alabama tailback Mark Ingram's shortened day against UT-Chattanooga have much impact on his Heisman Trophy stock?

As of the latest update, Ingram was still No. 1 in the ESPN Heisman Watch, standing in front of Stanford running back Toby Gerhart, Clemson running back C.J. Spiller, Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.

The folks at HeismanPundit.com now suggest that McCoy and Ingram are the ones to beat in the Heisman race, though the site still lists Ingram No. 1 if the vote was today.

Personally, I'll also go along with the idea that McCoy is the biggest challenger right now, based on another stout performance for the Longhorns quarterback.
