I did very little reading as a child. Only at school did I read anything. lol
Now days, with the Internet, I read everyday.. I like it better than books, magazines or TV. The Library we have here in town I haven't been to in 10 years. The computer you can pick and choose what you want to read better than any other source. You have access to the world.
But growing up I'd liked to be outside playing with the other kids. I'd come home after a long day of playing (summer time ..no school) eat supper and watch and hour or so of TV and go to bed. At school I had to read things and I didn't really enjoy it. Now I do with the invention of the computer.
Oh Man you just explained exactly what I did. I would daydream about something else as I read, and when I got to the end of the page I had no idea what I just read..lol Its weird but it can happen. That was a big problem with me growing up, nothing in books interested me enough to hold my attention.rosco 357 wrote:i dont know but when reading a book, i find my mind wonders and i think like a whole page, what did i just read, lol,
Yes that's another time I had to read, was in church, the Bible and gospel songs. Had to read the lyrics to sing it. I never had to read out loud any bible verses, but I had to read the bible quietly to myself.rosco 357 wrote:oh one thing i never liked to do, is in sunday school they went around the room in my class taking turns reading the Bible aloud , i hated to read aloud, i was not good at it, i am better now,
Oh yeah I remember doing the cards in the spokes, I'd attach them with wooden cloth (sp) pins. The kind you hang laundry with to dry. They were always falling off.. lol But I did that a lot. Never did the balloons. I was and still am a Star Trek nut. I have all the original episodes (kirk, spock) on DVD. I bought a package deal a few years ago that has all the episodes and extra footage on them categorized and numbered in order from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd season. Star Trek only lasted 3 seasons. . Its store bought. I loved the Beverly Hillbilly's and bonanza too. Watched it all the time. Seems we have a lot in common.rosco 357 wrote:we also played outside till dark many days. the main tv shows i remember or liked when young , were several and i will forget many, but beverly hillbillys, star trek, bonnaza , oh no way can i remember them all, yes we lived in a community where u could ride ur bike anywhere, does anyone remember putting cards or even better balloons on the bicycle wheel and they hit the spokes and made an engine noise, lol,, i had a big collection of model cars the kind u glue together,, and had a shelf all way across one wall in my bedroom that i had them on, take care
