Wow, I appreciate this. Roy Orbison made the first commertially successfull version of this beautiful song. I always thought of McClean as "Miss American Pie..." As I am learning, we all share this love of music.

marc i had this version i guess in the late 70 and late at night with headphones on i played it over and over, i hope u listened to it all, i love the end, .take care

me too, i can listen to this song over and over, by both,, glad we got them side by side, ,Tyler once told me as we all know some songs bring good memories and some bring back tough memories, well this one is tough for me, but too good to not listen to, sometimes in the car i just have to turn off the radio, take care,
