1. Reheat Pizza: Heat up leftover pizza in a
Nonstick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till
Warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy micro pizza.

2. Easy Deviled Eggs: Put cooked egg yolks in A zip lock bag. Seal,

till they are all broken up. Add remainder Of ingredients , reseal ,

Container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for A

minutes. You can double it in size. You get to fr ost more Cake/cupcakes

4. Reheating refrigerated bread: To warm Biscuits, pancakes, or
muffins
that were refrigerated, place them in A microwave with a cup of water.
The increased moisture will keep the Food moist and help it reheat
faster.

5. Newspaper weeds away: Start putting in Your plants; work the
nutrients
in your soil. Wet newspapers put layers Around the plants overlapping as
you
go cover with mulch and forget About weeds. Weeds will get through some
gardening plastic they will not Get through wet newspapers.

6. Broken Glass clean up:
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the Small shards of glass
you
can't see easily.

7. No More Mosquitoes: Place a dryer sheet in Your pocket. It will
keep
the mosquitoes aw ay.

8. Squirrel Away!: To keep squirrels from Eating your plants sprinkle
your
plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne Pepper doesn't hurt the plant
and
the squirrels won't come near it.

9. Flexible vacuum nozzle: To get something Out of a heat register or
under the fridge add an empty paper towel roll Or empty gift wrap roll
to
your vacuum. It can be bent or flattened to Get in narrow openings.

10. Reducing Static Cling: Pin a small Safety pin to the seam of your
slip
and you will not have a clingy skirt Or dress. Same thing works with
slacks
that cling when wearing panty Hose. Place pin in seam of slacks and --

DA! -- static is gone.

13. Reopening envelope : If you seal an Envelope and then realize you
forgot to include something inside, just Place your sealed envelope in

freezer for an hour or two. Viola! It Unseals easily.

14. Hair Conditioner: Use your hair
Conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than shaving cream
And
leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the
Conditioner you bought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair..

15. Goodbye Fruit Flies: To get rid of pesky Fruit flies , take a
small
glass fill it 1/2' with Apple Cider Vinegar And 2 drops of dish washing
liquid mix well. You will find those flies Drawn to the cup and gone
forever!

16. Get Rid of Ants: Put small piles of Cornmeal where you see ants.
They eat it, take it 'home', can't digest It so it kills them. It may
take a
week or so, especially if it rains , But it works & you don't have the
worry
about pets or small children Being harmed!

17. INFO ABOUT CLOTHES DRYERS: The heating Unit went out on my dryer!
The gentleman that fixes things around the House for us told us that he
wanted to show us something and he went Over to the dryer and pulled out
the
lint filter. It was clean.
(I always clean the lint from the filter after every load clothes) He
told
us that he wanted to show us something; he Took the filter over to the
sink,
ran hot water over it. The lint filter Is made of a mesh material - I'm
sure
you know what your dryer's lint Filter looks like.
WELL...the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It Didn't go through
it at
all! He told us that dryer sheets cause a film Over that mesh that's
what
burns out the heating unit. You can't SEE the Film , but its there. It's
what is in the dryer sheets to make your clothes soft and static free -
that
nice fragrance too; you know how they can feel waxy when you take them
out
of the box, and well this stuff builds up on your clothes and on your
lint
screen.
This is also what causes dryer units to catch fire & potentially burn
your
house down with it!
He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very long time (&
to
keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out & wash it with
hot
soapy water & an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six
months.
He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! How
about
that!?! Learn something new everyday! I certainly didn't know dryer
sheets
would do that.
So, I thought I'd share!
Note: I went to my dryer & tested my screen by running water on it. The
water ran through a little bit but mostly collected all the water in the
mesh screen. I washed it with warm soapy water & a nylon brush & I had
it
done in 30 seconds. Then when I rinsed it the water ran right Thru the
screen! There wasn't any paddling at all! That repairman knew what he
was talking about.

I had a neighbor who had bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all aroundthe sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over,woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do... probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open. Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm hispaint job that was on the truck. I'm impressed! WD-40 who knew?

Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a "water displacement" compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The CorvairCompany bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you.

When you read the "shower door" part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle!
Then try it on your stovetop... Voila! It's now shinier than it's ever been.

spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
43) If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the
moisture and allow the car to start.

The basic ingredient is FISH OIL.
. I keep a can of WD-40 in my kitchen
cabinet over the stove.

It is good for oven burns or any other type of
burn. It takes away the
burned feeling and heals with NO scarring.

Scent Removers

You can use lemon juice to get rid of odors like fish, onion, garlic and spaghetti sauce from hands, cooking utensils and pans. You can even use lemon juice on a wet dish rag to wipe your counter tops and cutting blocks down to remove any lingering odors.


Grinding up any citrus peel while running hot water into your garbage disposal will remove any lingering odors wafting up from it.


Keeping a box of baking soda in your refrigerator and in your freezer will absorb any odors from your appliances, leaving them smelling clean and fresh. You can also place a box of baking soda in your bathrooms behind the toilet to remove any odors that might arise there.


You can toss a tablespoon of baking soda onto any nasty spill in your refrigerator or freezer to absorb some of the mess and cut any odors the spill itself might cause. You can also do this in your bathroom or on any smooth surface.


Use a cup of vinegar in your washing machine when doing a load of laundry to remove any odors from clothing and from the washing machine itself. You can also boil about a half a cup of vinegar with two cups of water on your stovetop to remove pesky, lingering odors in your kitchen.


Placing a cotton ball soaked in pure vanilla extract in a small saucer and placing it anywhere in your home or even your car will eliminate odors and freshen the air, giving it a sweetened scent.


You can remove almost any odor from your home by boiling cinnamon and cloves in about two cups of water. This will not only eliminate lingering odors, but freshen the air in your home as well.


Placing a few drops of tea tree oil in any room of your house or even in your car will eliminate lingering odors and freshen the air. You can also use tea tree oil in your dish water or laundry to cut lingering odors that are difficult to remove.

1. Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

2. Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle - perfect shaped pancakes every time.

3. To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

4. To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling.

5. To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature & roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.

6. To easily remove burnt-on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop-skillet will be much easier to clean.

7. When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead-no white mess on the outside of the cake.

8. If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato-it absorbs the excess salt for an instant "fix me up."

9. Brush beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

10. Place a slice of apple in hardened brown sugar to soften it back up.

11. When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness. (ah, an old 1940’s Fannie Farmer trick!)

12. To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh-if it rises to the surface, throw it away.

13. Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

14. Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

15. If you have a problem opening jars: Try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

16. Potatoes will take food stains off your fingers. Just slice and rub raw potato on the stains and rinse with water.

17. To get rid of itch from mosquito bite: try applying soap on the area, instant relief.

18. Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line. So get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march-see for yourself.

19. When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.

20. NOW Look what you can do with Alka-Seltzer:

Clean a toilet-drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush, and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous china.
Clean a vase-to remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka-Seltzer tablets.
Polish jewelry-drop two Alka-Seltzer tablets into a glass of water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.
Clean a thermos bottle-fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka-Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).
Unclog a drain-clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka-Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar. Wait a few minutes, then run the hot water.

not sure i did not miss some, adn ppl probably know this, but vinegar ran throught a coffee maker will clean it out,,, also i have always used like cheep hair spray like aqua net to clean off ball point ink marks, i let a pen get in the dryer from a pocket, the drum had alot of ink in it, it took a whole can of hair spray but it cleaned it, once i also on the van a customized one, it had part of the roof inside, that was beige, velvet like or brushed like material, well on vacation i think one of the kids got a ball point pen mark on it, i just sprayed the end of a Q-tip, with hair spray , i used several ones as they sucked out the ink, and it just erased the ball point mark, i think i then got a damp cloth to kinda remove the hair spray, which was not much since i sprayed the q- tip, i may have posted this somewhere before i think but forgot, lol.. i have always sprayed with wd-40 my spark plug wires adn inside my distributor cap, to take out the moisture, but not on any new kinda car, so far, lol, cars dont seeem to drowned out like they did when i was young, i wash my engines nad they always crank, a guy at work asked the question what can is in more houses that anyother, most ppl said, soup and other stuff, but according to what he read , wd-40 was the answer,, not sure where he read that,, take care

it works but it takes more than one application~ these are very good, some work, some don't
plus they are old tips~aren't they?

If you have some new ones feel free to add them, I am sure at your age the OLD tried but true remedies are still fresh in your mind.
