Its wrong in the classrooms. To begin, it is unconstitutional and a clear violation of our First Amendment. Remember, that amendment contains the Establishment clause which prohibits the government from establishing religion. Simply put, secular institutions like the public schools should NOT be a forum for religious ritual or indoctrination. Prayer is not efficacious. School prayer is obviously a form of religious indoctrination, it teaches children that there are invisible, supernatural entities which can be implored and appeased through mumbling prayers or reading from the bible.

I think people get caught up in two different things Religion is many denominations,.I think prayer can be a simple recognition to be reverent to God if you want, or to pray to be safe from injuries,at games or any function.I don't think it should be forced on people, I think it should be private, personal action, religion has caused many deaths, and wars. Religion is not my worship, God is.

Well I don't have a god, nor religion, I have reality, if I can see it I'll believe in it, after they took prayer out they also took away a kindergarten play of the nativity, it was precious and the kids had so much fun doing it, but it was axed too. I think with freedom of speech in the 1st. amendment they are pushing the buttons a little to much , now the 2nd amendment is in jeopardy, I guess next will be the 3rd. till we have no rights left.

That link you posted Gypsy doesn't work I'll have to remove it.

The Establishment Clause is the first of several pronouncements in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, stating, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. Not every school follows to rules obviously, but when has religious people ever concerned themselves with the rules?

Every state that has public schools has national governmental rules they have to follow, one of which is to not get involved with prayer in the schools. Since the states public schools are overseen by the government they must abide by whats in the national governmental First amendment clause, which is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". That is interpreted as you can not hold prayer activity in public schools (which is a religious activity) during class hours because Congress has not made it a legal law and does not respect it or acknowledge it as a legal thing to do.

People tend to overlook that and engage in it at there schools anyway. You have to have a private school license to practice religion at your school. Oh you can teach religion history and events, but holding a religious ceremonies such as prayers and services, it is not permitted in public schools. So technically you are not allowed to hold prayers in public schools, or more to the point, the teachers and staff should not promote it.

They are not trying to remove it, if someone objects and the school gets reported they could be forced to stop it. But the government isn't out looking to enforce that law to the letter. The religious fanatics are the ones ignoring the first amendment clause about religion. They are the ones why schools get in trouble. Some of the school staff are religious fanatics too and practice prayer in the classrooms. Technically this isn't allowed in public schools. The schools have to have a license and be a private school. But the religious fanatics think they have the right to pray wherever they want to.

Just like you are not allowed to urinate outside in a public place that is not designed for that kind of activity you are not allowed to pray in public schools, so most people don't urinate outside they find a public bathroom. The religious fanatics think they have every right to pray in front of people in any public place they want because they think God wants them to. So what God wants outweighs what you or I or the government wants. This has been there defense for every wrong doing they have ever done in this world or is going to do in the future, they say God wanted them to do it and you are wrong. That kind of mentality is one of the major reasons the human species has had so many wars with catastrophic casualties, its because religious fanatics think God wants them to do it and they are right. They are the major contributors and reasons of war.

Religious fanatics are law breakers plain and simple.

I don't believe the voucher system will be good for Louisiana or America, it has been tried before, with no success, my article that started this conversation stated a bit about this.

also it is fact no one pissed in My Cheerios because had scrambled eggs.

I will do more research on the subject.

School Vouchers: The Wrong Choice for Public Education
Introduction

Conclusion
Take Action:

The Wrong Choice for Public Education

Introduction

Most Americans believe that improving our system of education should be a top priority for government at the local, state and Federal levels. Legislators, school boards, education professionals, parent groups and community organizations are attempting to implement innovative ideas to rescue children from failing school systems, particularly in inner-city neighborhoods. Many such groups champion voucher programs. The standard program proposed in dozens of states across the country would distribute monetary vouchers (typically valued between $2,500-$5,000) to parents of school-age children, usually in troubled inner-city school districts. Parents could then use the vouchers towards the cost of tuition at private schools -- including those dedicated to religious indoctrination.

Superficially, school vouchers might seem a relatively benign way to increase the options poor parents have for educating their children. In fact, vouchers pose a serious threat to values that are vital to the health of American democracy. These programs subvert the constitutional principle of separation of church and state and threaten to undermine our system of public education.

I noted once again you are trying to make a political issue out of the voucher thread..not happening and wrong direction again.

that was a very silly reply. I don't
' think tampons was the subject.but I guess in a sense government is involved with all things in this country, and most subjects could be political~

maybe you should turn the pages on my article and read it all.
