Scary, but exciting, also..the old ,is replaced with new ideas? what does one really think,what does that mean?
I have not completely agreed with it all, McCain is for the old ideas, that is what i see.. so far they have been ok,,, but it is no longer working, the System needs rejuvinated, may not be right,but the laws aren't working anymore,the gov't, is getting more hitler like,just my opinion,beware of what we give up, we may never regain it again, so i am like on the fence~ anyone else?

main thing i miss is when i was a child ppl did not have to keep doors locked, i have long story on my youngest son in laws best friend, went through on his job petaining to crime last week will tell it another time,,,i have rambled enough, i think thats why i love the lake, we dont lock doors there, its like steping back in time,

The League, which monitors the activities of racist hate groups and reports its findings to law enforcement and policymakers, has documented a noticeable spike in activity by Klan chapters across the country. The KKK believes that the U.S. is "drowning" in a tide of non-white immigration, controlled and orchestrated by Jews, and is vigorously trying to bring this message to Americans concerned or fearful about immigration.

Media in Western Kentucky this week have contacted Kentucky Commission on Human Rights (KCHR) Executive Director John Johnson about alleged recent activity of the Ku Klux Klan in Morgantown, Owensboro and Bowling Green.



According to a Western Kentucky Public Radio reporter, the KKK in the last few weeks has been leaving business-type cards in front of residents’ properties near their mailboxes saying, “I was watching over your neighborhood last night while you slept.”



Yesterday, a recipient of one of the cards called the KCHR to report that on one street block, residents believed only individuals recognized as supporting civil rights work and black families received the cards. The caller expressed feelings of fear and intimidation.

In response to these incidents, KCHR Executive Director John Johnson states: “The KKK has historically promoted hatred and divisiveness, and this type of organization is a dying breed. The overwhelming majority of Kentucky’s people are striving for understanding, tolerance and unity, and our state’s young people deserve better than the legacy a group like the Ku Klux Klan would attempt to force upon them.”



Executive Director Johnson urges anyone who feels he or she is a victim of fear and intimidation to contact local law authorities immediately for protection. He further advises that if residents receive this type material inside their mailboxes or directly on their properties, to contact the FBI to report possible violations of federal law.



“If you believe you may be a victim of illegal discrimination because of your race, color, gender, age, disability, national origin or religion,” Mr. Johnson continues, “please contact the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights or our local human rights commission partners in your area to file a complaint.”



KCHR is the state government agency that enforces the Kentucky Civil Rights Act and policies of federal civil rights laws. It initiates, receives, investigates, conciliates and rules upon jurisdictional complaints. KCHR has jurisdiction in housing, employment, public accommodations, and financial transactions. The Kentucky Civil Rights Act prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status in housing, disability, age (40 or over) in employment, and smoking status in employment. Complaints not dismissed, settled or conciliated go to administrative hearing where commission rulings have the authority of a court of law.

(AP) A civil rights group is suing the second-largest Ku Klux Klan group in the United States, alleging some of its members beat a 16-year-old boy at a county fair southwest of Louisville.

The Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., said five members of the Kentucky-based Imperial Klans of America attacked the boy at the Meade County Fairgrounds in Brandenburg, Ky., in July 2006. The attack left the teen with two cracked ribs, a broken left forearm, cuts and bruises.

The center sued the Klan in Meade County Circuit Court on Wednesday and is seeking unspecified damages.

The center contends in the lawsuit that the Klan was recruiting at the Meade County fair by passing out cards and flyers advertising a "white only" function. Two Klan members saw the teen, Jordan Gruver, and began shouting racial epithets. The two men, Andrew Watkins and Jarred Hensley, threw whiskey in Gruver's face, knocked him down, kicked him with steel-toed boots and beat him. Along with the physical injuries, the attack left Gruver with extreme emotional distress.

Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, said Gruver, who is an American citizen of Panamanian descent, is afraid of being attacked again. The suit was filed because there has been a surge of anti-immigrant violence in recent months, and it appears that Gruver was attacked because he looks Latino, Cohen said.

"We want to put a stop to this kind of violence," Cohen said. "They targeted and viciously beat our client solely because he has brown skin."

The Imperial Klans of America's Web site lists its mailing address in Dawson Springs, Ky., and its Exalted Cyclops as Ron Edwards. The Dawson Springs site has played host to the Klan's annual "Nordic Fest," a weekend of speeches and music centered on the Klan's message of white supremacy.

An e-mail sent to the address listed on the Imperial Klans of America site was not immediately returned Wednesday. The last posting on the Web page was dated September 2006.

Watkins, 28, and Jarred Hensley, 24, of Cincinnati, are each serving three years in prison. They pleaded guilty in February to second-degree assault under extreme emotional disturbance. Each is named as a defendant in the lawsuit, as is the Klan organization, Edwards, J. Edward of Meade County, Ky., and Joshua Cowles of Brandenburg. The lawsuit identifies Edward and Cowles as members of Imperial Klans of America.

Brandenburg is about 42 miles southwest of Louisville.
