SINCERE APOLOGY: If a sincere person hurts you, he will apologise and mean it. ‘Meaning It’ means not doing the same thing to you again. However, if an insincere person hurts you, he will also apologise, but then he will use your forgiveness as a license to repeat the offence. Such an apology is worthless, and this repetition can really get you down, so regard this insincere relationship as toxic, and get rid of it
